The System Center Orchestrator Migration Toolkit consists of the following tools.

Integration Pack Converter
This tool converts integration packs that were created using the Orchestrator Integration Toolkit to integration modules based on Windows PowerShell that can be imported into Azure Automation or Service Management Automation. Using the tool’s wizard, you can select the activities in the integration pack that will be converted to cmdlets in the integration module. Placeholders are created for monitor activities that are not supported in Azure Automation or Service Management Automation.

Standard Activities module
Integration module that contains all of the standard activities used in Orchestrator Runbooks that can be imported into Azure Automation or Service Management Automation. This module must be installed in your environment prior to importing any runbook converted with the Runbook Converter.

Runbook Converter (coming soon)
This tool converts Orchestrator runbooks into graphical runbooks that can be imported into Azure Automation.

[OpsMgr 2012 R2 UR3] Check if SCOM 2012 R2 Infrastructure was upgraded to UR3 ( #OpsMgr #Script )

Jure Labrovic has published a script to check if SCOM 2012 R2 Infrastructure was upgraded to UR3. I get this information on the Technet gallery where all the code is given.

1. Scripts Gets, All Management Servers, Gateway Servers and Web Console Server.
2. Then it checks if there are event log entries which indicate that SCOM 2012 UR3 was installed.
3. It checks file version in OpsMgr installation folder and displays all updated DLLs

[OpsMgr 2012] Operation Manager 2012 Toolbox - Override Explorer Updated

To complete the toolbox post created here : OpsMgr Toolbox, here is an article to announce that OverrideExplorer has been updated to Version 3.7 to work with OpsMgr2012 and includes some minor fixes, as well as the capability to Export all overrides to an Excel spreadsheet. It also now shows both Windows and Unix computers in the computers view.

For many years, Microsoft Commercial Technical Support (CTS) would always ask customers to run a data gathering tool called Microsoft Product Support (MPS) Report Tool and manually go through analyzing the files collected one at a time. This is a very tedious job and it’s prone to human error, because we can all look at logs and interpret them differently. As a result, we could potentially miss critical data that can lead to a false root cause analysis.

Now we are providing you a NEW and improved automated tool called the Microsoft Support Diagnostics Tools (MSDT) Analysis Packages which is our replacement for the old MPS Report Tool. These new MSDT Analysis Packages are broken down by technology, using Windows Diagnostics Infrastructure (WDI) framework to collect logs and configuration data from a workstation or server for further analysis.  Then the MSDT Analysis Packages get uploaded to the FICP website that leverages a Unified Diagnostics Ecosystem (UDE). This UDE engine automates and standardizes on support issues reported to Microsoft, then provides a more unified and comprehensive root cause analysis with Recommended Solution steps to complete.

In the past, in order for customers to use MSDT Analysis Package you would have an open case with Microsoft so they could send you an email with a link to download the package.  However now, customers can choose to download any individual stand-alone MSDT Analysis Package by using our technology via Microsoft FixIt Center Pro (FICP) from the following URL link below:

By going directly to FICP, customers don’t need to have open cases Microsoft in order to use this automated tool.

• MPViewer

The previous version 1.7 (that works with OpsMgr 2007 and 2007 R2) was released here. Version 2.2.1 has been updated to work with OpsMgr 2012, and now includes support for MPB files (MP Bundles), shows embedded resources in bundles (such as images or scripts), loads MPs asynchronously, and has the ability to Unseal and Unpack MP Bundles.
Warning: only MP Bundles that contain a single ManagementPack are supported; there are some Service Manager MPBs that contain multiple ManagementPacks in a single bundle, and this tool currently cannot deal correctly with those. This should not be a problem for OPSMGR Management Packs, that typically contain only one Management Pack per bundle.
