[OpsMgr 2012 R2] Update Rollup 2 for System Center 2012 R2 Operations Manager ( #OpsMgr #SystemCenter )

This article describes the issues that are fixed in Update Rollup 2 for Microsoft System Center 2012 R2 Operations Manager and the Linux and Unix Monitoring Pack. Additionally, this article contains the installation instructions for Update Rollup 2 for System Center 2012 R2 Operations Manager.



Issues that are fixed in this update rollup

Operations Manager

Issue 1
This update rollup makes the stored procedure performance aggregate more robust against out-of-range values.

Issue 2
Adding multiple regular expressions (RegEx) to a group definition causes an SQL exception when the group is added or run.

Issue 3
Web applications fail when they are monitored by the System Center Operations Manager 2012 R2 APM agent.

Issue 4
Service Level Objectives (SLO) dashboards sometimes load in several seconds and sometimes take minutes to load. Additionally, the dashboard is empty after it loads in some cases.

Issue 5
Operations Manager Console crashes when you try to override the scope in the Authoring pane.

Issue 6
The System Center Operations Manager console is slow to load views if you are a member of a custom Operator role.

Issue 7
This update rollup includes a fix for the dashboard issue that was introduced in Update Rollup 1.

Issue 8
SQL Time Out Exceptions for State data (31552 events) occur when you create Data Warehouse workflows.

Issue 9
This update rollup includes a fix for the Event Data source.


Operations Manager - UNIX and Linux Monitoring (Management Pack Update)

Issue 1
All IBM WebSphere application servers that run on Linux or AIX computers are not automatically discovered by the Management Pack for Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) if multiple application servers are defined in a single WebSphere profile.

[OpsMgr 2012 SP1] System Center Operations Manager 2012 SP1 UR2 has been released


Update Release 2 has been release and here are the fixes to SCOM and you can look/download what else is being addressed in this release on Microsoft site



Operations Manager (KB2826664)

Issue 1
The Web Console performance is very poor when a view is opened for the first time.
Issue 2
The alert links do not open in the Web Console after Service Pack 1 is applied for Operations Manager.
Issue 3
The Distributed Applications (DA) health state is incorrect in Diagram View.
Issue 4
The Details Widget does not display data when it is viewed by using the SharePoint webpart.
Issue 5
The renaming of the SCOM group in Group View will not work if the user language setting is not "English (United States)." 
Issue 6
An alert description that includes multibyte UTF-8 characters is not displayed correctly in the Alert Properties view.
Issue 7
The Chinese (Taiwan) Web Console displays the following message even after the SilverlightClientConfiguration.exe program is run:
Web Console Configuration Required.
Issue 8
The Application Performance Monitoring (APM) to IntelliTrace conversion is broken when alerts are generated from dynamic module events such as the Unity Container.
Issue 9
Connectivity issues to System Center services are fixed.
Issue 10
High CPU problems are experienced in Operations Manager UI.
Issue 11
Query processor runs out of internal resources and cannot produce a query plan when you open Dashboard views.
Issue 12
Path details are missing for "Objects by Performance."

Operations Manager - UNIX and Linux Monitoring (Management Pack Update) (KB2828653)

Issue 1
The Solaris agent could run out of file descriptors when many multi-version file systems (MVFS) are mounted.
Issue 2
Logical and physical disks are not discoverable on AIX-based computers when a disk device file is contained in a subdirectory.
Issue 3
Rules and monitors that were created by using the UNIX/Linux Shell Command templates do not contain overridableShellCommand and Timeoutparameters.
Issue 4
Process monitors that were created by the UNIX/Linux Process Monitoring template cannot save in an existing management pack that has conflicting references to library management packs.
Issue 5
The Linux agent cannot install on a CentOS or Oracle Linux host by using FIPS version of OpenSSL 0.9.8.

[OpsMgr 2012] Update Rollup 2 for System Center 2012 - Operation Manager SP1

This article discusses the installation instructions and the issues that are fixed in Update Rollup 2 for Microsoft System Center 2012.

Follow the installation instructions to download and then install the update packages for System Center 2012.

Here are the issues fixed for

Operations Manager (KB2731874)

Issue 1
The Windows PowerShell module runspace configuration cache grows indefinitely. This causes memory usage to increase.

Issue 2

The Set-SCOMLicense cmdlet fails if the management group evaluation expiration time-out has expired.

Operations Manager - UNIX and Linux Monitoring (Management Pack Update)

Issue 1

The System Center Operations Manager agent may crash on Oracle Solaris root zones that are configured to use a range of dedicated CPUs.

Issue 2

The UNIX/Linux agent process provider may not enumerate running processes if a process has arguments that include non-ASCII characters. This prevents process/daemon monitoring.

Issue 3

The .rpm specification file for the agent for Red Hat Enterprise Linux does not specify the distribution.

Orchestrator (KB2702112 - Runbook Designer (x86), Runbook Server (x86))

Issue 1

A System Center Orchestrator Runbook that uses the "Run Program" activity to execute an application on a system that is running Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista, or an earlier version of Windows may return a failed status for the "Run Program" activity together with the following content in the Error Summary Text published data:
Could not start Orchestrator Run Program Service service on computer_name - The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely manner. (code 1053)

On the remote computer on which the service is trying to start, the following event is captured in the Application log:
